ART THERAPY

Over the last few years, I've spent my time pursuing other creative outlets.  And to be brutally honest, this was the first time (in a long time) that I picked up a paint brush.  On 1/5/2023, I created what you see below.  I was feeling extremely angry, sad, agitated, frustrated, betrayed, anxious, and despondent.  So, I chose to take out those "negative" feelings on a canvas.  I was surprised by how positive, cathartic, and therapeutic the experience ended up being.   A song called "Dear Agony" by Breaking Benjamin came on and the below piece just poured out of me.   I listened to it on repeat and, when all was felt, said, and done, I found paint e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.  A bit of a clean-up sitch, but totally worth it.  When the spirit moves again, I hope to find myself back at it in the studio creating another Art Therapy piece to share.
